This message is for HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND PARENTS @ WTCS Below is a link for an interest survey. https://forms.gle/VVLsHvSkb38g4t8eA We are looking at possibly having a prom for students in grades 9-12 at Grand Hotel on Saturday, May 13th. We have been invited by Mackinac Island Public Schools along with Grand Marais. It would be about $85 per student for the ticket, which will include dinner and a night of music/dancing. ($170 per couple) Grand Hotel will waive the rental fee of the room. With permission, students would be allowed to invite another student from a different district (1 invite per student). The student's school principal would have to sign off on the permission form. This event will be chaperoned by a few MIPS staff members and Mr. Gross. This will be a formal event and will follow Grand Hotel dress requirements. Before we do any additional planning, we would like to get some feedback from students and parents. Please answer the 3 questions below. Transportation to and from the ferry will be the responsibility of the parents. This is NOT an overnight trip. Thanks! Whitefish is on a 2 hour delay for Wednesday January 18 due to slippery side roads. No CTE when we have 2 hour delays.

From our friends at LSSU: Laker Athletics is celebrating “Kids Day” on Saturday, January 14. Youth tickets are $2.00 for Women’s Basketball, Men’s Basketball, and Hockey. Family passes can also be purchased: Women’s and Men’s Basketball Family passes are $20.00 and include 2 adults and 3 youth Hockey Family passes are $30.00 and include 2 adults and 3 youth *Families can purchase additional youth tickets to accompany their family passes for $2.00. Laker Athletics will also offer the Family pass promotion for Friday evening’s Hockey match as well. Please share with your students, families, and staff. We hope to see you in the arena. Happy New Year Rocket Family!! Just a reminder that school resumes tomorrow Jan 3rd and will be in session through Friday. Our first hybrid Monday will start Jan 9th. Our basketball teams head to Maplewood for a triple header on Thursday Jan 5th with a 5:30 PM tipoff. Should you have any questions, please contact the school.

Due to the increase in illness between students and staff we will be closed Wednesday and Thursday. There will NOT be CTE (Career Technical Education). There will not be basketball practice. If your student is present they will be cleaning lockers and we will be sending all winter gear home from lockers to be washed. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We will see you January 3rd. Remember when we return in January we will be back in session on Fridays and we will have Mondays off.

Important information from Whitefish Township Schools Starting in January our Hybrid day is changing from Fridays to Mondays. So no more Fridays off. We will be off on Mondays instead. Please schedule all your medical appointments on Mondays. December 14th starting at 6:00 PM is our Holiday Program. Rumor has it that a big bearded man in a red and white suit will be here. Next week there will only be one basketball practice. It will be for boys and girls from 3:30-5:30 on Monday, December 12th.

Due to the inclement weather and road conditions, Whitefish will be closed today. Welcome to December. Parent teacher conferences and basketball practice will also be cancelled.

Reminder tomorrow is our 1st incentive field trip for the year. We will be going to the Big Bear. If your student has unexcused absences, major discipline issues or a failing grade they will not be attending the field trip. They will stay back at the school. Students not eligible to attend the field trip will know before they leave school today. Miss Mills will call all parents who have ineligible kids today when she becomes aware of their ineligibility. There will be no one in the office tomorrow 11/22. If you know of any bus changes or appointments please try to contact the office today for tomorrows arrangements. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. There is No school Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Just a reminder that our Veteran's Day assembly starts at 10:30 today. School will be dismissed at 1:00 PM with an estimated arrival time to the Newberry stop at 2:07 PM. Our weather is changing so please make sure kids have the proper winter apparel on. All school delays and closings will be via Facebook and our school app.

A few reminders from Whitefish Township Schools : Tomorrow, November 4th starts our Hybrid Fridays. There will be no school on Fridays this month. CTE is still going on these days. Clocks go back an hour this weekend. Locker cleanout is happening tomorrow. Time to prepare for bringing snow pants, boots, hats, gloves, and jackets. November 14th is our Veteran's Day Assembly. It starts at 10:30, there will be a lunch to follow and school will dismiss @ 1:00. If you are wanting to attend the assembly please call the office to RSVP. This is important so we can make sure to prepare enough food. Please keep an eye on when field trips are happening that way if you need to pick your student up early or drop them off early you know whether or not they will be in the building. A lot of sickness is going around right now, while attendance is important it is equally important to stay home when sick.

Tomorrows tri-match with Maplewood and Grand Marais in Grand Marais is canceled. At this time there will not be a make up game. Tonight's match at OCS is still on. Lets go Lady Rockets!
