Due to the pending storm forcasted for our area, Whitefish will be closed today Thursday February 23rd. CTE is closed, Newberry is closed and so is the ISD in Rudyard. Have a great day and see you all tomorrow!!
CHANGE to Northern Lights League Tournament Information. Friday Feb 24 The bus will depart the school at 10 AM. They will head to Hannahville to play the winner of #8 Beaver Island or #9 Grand Marais at4:00 PM. The winner will play at 8:30 PM against #4 Munising Baptist. The team, the coach and the bus driver will stay the night at the Island Resort. The winner of the 8:30 PM game will play #1 Maplewood Baptist at 11:30 am Saturday. The winner of that game will play in the Championship game at 4 PM. This is a lose and you are out tournament. The host AD is trying to set up all the games on NFHS Network. (It is a $10/month subscription). They will be staying the night regardless. Meals will be provided by the school. The boys are welcome to bring concession money. Best of luck to our Rockets!!!
If you have a 3rd-6th grader interested in Basketball this form is coming home with them today. Please have them turned into the office by March 3rd. If we don't get your child signed up in time we wont have time to order shirts.

Transportation Details for the Beaver Island Basketball game tomorrow 2/18.
If you are riding the bus to the airport you need to be to the school by 6:30 AM.
There will be a bus stop at the Eckerman Clinic @ 7:00 AM. If you are a Newberry resident or just plan on being dropped off at the airport you need to be to the airport at 7:45 AM. The basketball players should not be bringing blankets, backpacks, etc to the airport.
For return from Beaver Island the flight should arrive Newberry Airport at 2:30. The bus will stop at Eckerman Clinic on the way home @ approximately 3:15 PM. Bus should arrive back to the school approximately 3:30.
Rocket Athletics Update: The game scheduled for Grand Marais tomorrow is still on. The boys team will ride the Newberry bus at dismissal. From there, they will head to the game. The home game that was postponed this past Thursday is now scheduled for Feb 22nd. Boys game only at 5:30 PM. Go Rockets!
Whitefish Township Community School will be closed Friday due to high winds, dangerously low wind chill temperatures and extended lake effect snow.
The dance will be delayed to a date to be determined. This will allow time for the staff to prepare and will give us time to ensure the roads will be safe for travel to and from the dance.

Due to the weather the basketball game for tonight will be canceled. Mr. Gross will be working with Grand Marais to reschedule the game. No after school activities today.
Today we have 100% attendance!!! Yay! Reminder that February 8th is count day. While attendance is important every day it becomes absolutely critical on count day.
If you missed out on ordering rocket gear two weeks ago the lady that did them is offering another week of ordering. If you would like to place an order we have order forms in the office and the order and money is due on Friday, February 3rd.
If you placed an order with the 1/20/23 deadline those orders will be coming home with your student today.

We are looking at possibly having a prom for students in grades 9-12 at Grand Hotel on Saturday, May 13th. We have been invited by Mackinac Island Public Schools along with Grand Marais.
It would be about $85 per student for the ticket, which will include dinner and a night of music/dancing. ($170 per couple) Grand Hotel will waive the rental fee of the room. With permission, students would be allowed to invite another student from a different district (1 invite per student). The student's school principal would have to sign off on the permission form.
This event will be chaperoned by a few MIPS staff members and Mr. Gross.
This will be a formal event and will follow Grand Hotel dress requirements. Before we do any additional planning, we would like to get some feedback from students and parents. Please answer the 3 questions below.
Transportation to and from the ferry will be the responsibility of the parents.
This is NOT an overnight trip.
