Update: At 10:43 AM, we entered secure mode due to a direct threat impacting Sault Area Schools, including CTE. We came out of secure mode at 12:26 PM. All students remained safe and are now on their way home.

We extend our sincere thanks to Sault Area Schools administration, SRO Fruchy, CTE driver Ms. Planck, and all law enforcement personnel for their swift response and continued support in keeping our students and staff safe.

At 10:43 am, our school resource officer informed us of a directed threat towards SAULT AREA SCHOOLS. She recommended that Whitefish Township Community School proceed in secure mode. That means no one in or out of the building. If the situation changes, she will inform us with a new recommendations immediately.

No threats, direct or otherwise, mentioned anything regarding Whitefish Township Community Schools, its students, or its staff.

We are back to our normal schedule tomorrow. It is also the last day of Marking Period 3.

Tomorrow kicks off the start of Track Practice and Elementary Basketball Practice. Practices will run from 3:30–5:30 PM.

Schedules have been sent home with all student athletes and are also available on our website and app under the Events section.

Our bus is running a few minutes late today due to a technical issue. All students and staff are safe, and there is no cause for concern.

Due to the lingering effects of the blizzard Whitefish Township Community Schools will be closed Tuesday March 17th. Please stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.


* no school Monday the 16th or Tuesday the 17th. We also have our Virtual day March 18th. We will hopefully see everyone on Thursday!! Stay safe!

Due to the forecasted blizzard, we will be closed Monday March 16th. Expect zero visibility, power outages and more. We have been in conversation with Chippewa County Emergency Management. Please plan travel accordingly and take care of your neighbors and elderly.

Due to the weather, Whitefish Township will be closed today March 13. Have a safe weekend.

Due to the freezing rain and icy roads, WTCS is on a 2 hour delay.

Yesterday we had approximately 38% of our students out sick. Today we have about the same with several staff sick. We were hoping it would not hit us but it did. We will shut down school Thursday and Friday so our students and staff can get healthy. We are sending winter gear home for cleaning and we will deep clean the school over the next couple of days. Please get lots of rest, drink water and take your vitamins. Should you have any questions, please contact Mr. Gross

Whitefish is on a 2 hour delay due to the atomic snow globe shakeup. Please use caution while driving. Wednesday Feb. 25

Due to timing of the incoming storm and the length of our bus route, we will be dismissing at noon. No CTE. Lunch will be provided.

Whitefish is closed today Thursday Feb 19th due to road conditions. If you are traveling, take caution! Just because your road is fine, does not mean roads especially in open fields or near the lake are totally drifted in with continued strong winds in the forecast.

School is canceled today, January 49th due to the timing of the freezing rain and snow mixed storm approaching. See you Thursday!! Stay safe and warm.

Reminder there is no school tomorrow, February 13th or Monday, February 16th.

*Basketball has their last home game tonight at 5:00 PM. They also have a tournament tomorrow @ LSSU. They will play at 11:00. Come on out and show your support.

* There was a delivery of bowls to the school and no one here ordered them. We are guessing a business or committee in the community may have ordered them and they were delivered here on accident. If this might be you please call the school. We will ask for verification of the order and description.

Due to predicted weather tomorrow 1/30 we will be closed. Have a great weekend.

Due to the forecasted blowing snow and wind chill temperatures, we will be on a 2 hour delay for Thursday, January 29. Mr. Gross will continue to monitor the temperature throughout the morning. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Gross. Stay safe and warm.

We are working out some bugs with our delivery platform. Please be patient. Today, Tuesday Jan 27th Basketball practice is cancelled. Tomorrow, Wednesday Jan 28th all staff and visitors are asked to park near the library lot or the playground lot. Please use caution as snow is being removed from the roof near the main entrance. Call the school if you can vs visiting. Friday Jan 30th the field trip will be rescheduled. We are working on an alternative trip but until then, regular school day. If you have any questions, please reach out.

Practice is cancelled for today. Tuesday Jan 27th. The field trip this Friday Jan 30th is postponed. Our roof is being cleared and we ask that all staff and visitors park near the library end or the playground area. The snowblower will be shooting snow chunks off the roof.
